What challenges did Tractlux face before adopting Azure Virtual Desktop?
Before the migration, our infrastructure was built around physical workstations, which brought several limitations. Scalability was a major issue—adding or removing physical workstations was very time-consuming. Maintenance was also a significant challenge. We had to manually update software and troubleshoot each individual machine. On top of that, onboarding new employees was a slow process, with manual configuration needed for each new workstation.
How did Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) impact your infrastructure management?
Switching to Azure Virtual Desktop, transformed how we handle our infrastructure. Centralizing everything in a virtual environment has simplified management significantly. The entire infrastructure is now agile and scalable, allowing us to adjust hardware resources as needed. Mixvoip handles all updates and maintenance.
How has AVD improved collaboration and accessibility for your team? Before AVD, we were restricted to working on physical devices, which required being on-site. Now, with AVD, our team can securely access their work environment from any location and any device, even tablets. This flexibility has made a huge difference, especially for our field teams who can now access their workspaces remotely.
What specific features of AVD have been most beneficial to Tractlux?
The remote access capability has been a game-changer, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. With AVD already in place, we were able to switch to remote work, without any disruptions to operations. Additionally, having centralized data access from various locations, including multiple countries such as France and Luxembourg, has improved flexibility for our geographically dispersed teams.
