The history of Mixvoip: Timeline of key milestones

• January 2008 – The idea behind Mixvoip is born
Pascal Knebler and Loïc Didelot begin working on what would become Mixvoip, initially focusing on delivering SIP trunking services to businesses in Luxembourg.

• May 2008 – Mixvoip SA is incorporated
Mixvoip SA. is officially incorporated under Luxembourg business number B138372. Early investors include ION Network Solutions Sarl, several friends and family members, and Corpoinvest Soparfi SA, a holding company created to consolidate the founders’ shares.

• October 2008 – Launch of MixPBX, Mixvoip’s first phone system
Mixvoip expands its offering beyond SIP trunks by launching MixPBX, its first business phone system, built on the open-source Asterisk telephony framework. This allows customers to deploy full-featured PBX solutions that connect not only to SIP but also to traditional ISDN (BRI, PRI, E1) and analog lines.

• May 2010 – Mixvoip adds internet connectivity in Luxembourg via Visual Online
Mixvoip expands its services by partnering with Visual Online, enabling business internet access alongside its telephony portfolio.

• February 2011 – MixPBX becomes cloud-ready with multiple deployment options
Mixvoip’s in-house developed PBX solution, MixPBX, reaches a major milestone by becoming fully cloud-ready. From this point forward, it is available in three versions: on-premise with dedicated hardware, deployed in the customer’s own virtual environment, or fully hosted and managed in Mixvoip’s operated cloud infrastructure.

• May 2011 – Mixvoip launches Skype bridge for incoming PSTN calls
Mixvoip launches a Skype bridge, enabling customers to receive incoming PSTN calls directly on their Skype clients.

• May 2012 – Research collaboration on VoIP load optimization with University of Luxembourg
With support from Luxinnovation and the Ministry of the Economy, Mixvoip partners with the University of Luxembourg under the guidance of Professor Pascal Bouvry. The joint research focuses on predictive load analysis and dynamic optimization in VoIP systems to improve performance and reduce energy consumption through smarter resource allocation.

• July 2013 – Mixvoip creates Pindo SA to launch patented call-routing technology
Mixvoip spins off Pindo SA, a new company built around a patented technology (WO2014202798) that enables smartphones to place outbound calls using a business’s fixed-line caller ID without relying on mobile data or VoIP (3G/Wi-Fi).

• May 2015 – Mixvoip launches mobile services in Luxembourg via Tango network
Mixvoip enters the mobile market by offering business mobile subscriptions powered by the Tango network. The service includes national and EU voice, SMS, and data plans tailored to professional needs.

• August 2015 – Launch of LuxPBX brand for the public sector
Mixvoip launches LuxPBX, a dedicated brand built on its MixPBX platform, to offer tailored telephony solutions and pricing for the public sector. The initiative supported through the former website luxpbx.com, targets municipalities, schools, and government entities in Luxembourg.

• April 2016 – Mixvoip receives “Made in Luxembourg” label for MixPBX
Mixvoip is awarded the official “Made in Luxembourg” label for its in-house developed MixPBX solution, recognizing the product’s local innovation and engineering within the Grand Duchy.

• February 2017 – Mixvoip announces its first IP addresses via BGP
Mixvoip begins advertising its own first IP range (185.173.180.0/22) through BGP, marking a major milestone in becoming a fully fledged internet service provider with independent network routing.

• June 2017 – Mixvoip becomes seed investor in Moien News Media SA
Mixvoip invests as a seed-stage backer in Moien News Media SA, a Luxembourg-based startup with the goal of building an online news agency focused on content in the Luxembourgish language.

• November 2017 – Mixvoip Srl is incorporated
Mixvoip Belgium opens its offices in Brussels to serve Belgian business customers with local support and services.

• November 2017 – Mixvoip GmbH is incorporated
Mixvoip Germany is founded with offices in Trier, supporting the company’s expansion into the German market.

Mixvoip closes the year with €2.88M in revenue.

• May 2018 – Acquisition of customer portfolio from Installations téléphoniques Jean Konsbruck
Following the passing of founder Jean Konsbruck, Mixvoip acquires the customer portfolio and active service contracts of Installations téléphoniques Jean Konsbruck.

• September 2018 – Wagner Group acquires 35% stake in Mixvoip
Wagner Group, a Luxembourg-based industrial group founded in 1929, acquires a 35% stake in Mixvoip SA.

• June 2018 – 10-year anniversary celebrated with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel
Mixvoip celebrates its 10th anniversary with a major event attended by over 500 guests. Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel is present, delivers a speech, and joins the celebration underscoring the company’s national recognition and growth over its first decade.

• August 2018 – Internet connectivity added in Belgium (reseller mode)
Mixvoip begins offering internet services in Belgium.

• December 2018 – Over 2300 customers and €2.95M ARR
With 2,322 customers and €4.63M in revenue, Mixvoip sees its ARR climb to €2.95M.

• January 2019 – Mixvoip acquires Voipgate SA
Mixvoip acquires Voipgate SA, a Luxembourg-based telecom operator established in 2005 and formerly owned by Datacenter Luxembourg.

• February 2019 – Mixvoip launches MixTV for the hospitality market in Luxembourg
Mixvoip introduces MixTV, an OTT live TV service designed for hotels and hospitality businesses.

• March 2019 – Mixvoip adds LuxConnect dark fiber network in Luxembourg
Mixvoip integrates LuxConnect’s dark fiber infrastructure into its portfolio, enabling the delivery of high-speed and scalable internet services to business customers across Luxembourg.

• April 2019 – Mixvoip acquires Firstline Systems SA
Mixvoip acquires Firstline Systems SA in Luxembourg, launching managed IT services. This expands Mixvoip's offerings beyond telecom, providing comprehensive tech solutions.

• June 2019 – Mixvoip ranks #1 in OpenField’s cloud PBX benchmark
In a comparative study of Luxembourg telecom providers, Mixvoip earns the highest technical and commercial scores for its MixPBX platform.

• September 2019 – Mixvoip Belgium acquires IPfix Srl
Mixvoip Srl, the Belgian subsidiary of Mixvoip, acquires IPfix Srl, an IT and telephony service provider based in Belgium.

• December 2019 – Mixvoip awarded Telecom Company of the Year
Mixvoip receives the “Telecom Company of the Year” award at the Luxembourg ICT Awards, organized by Farvest and IT One.

• December 2019 – ARR hits €4.5M as customer base nears 3000
Mixvoip reaches €6.17M in revenue with 2834 customers. The public sector accounts for 4.61% of recurring revenues for the year.

• January 2020 – Mixvoip acquires Pindo’s technology and exits the company
Pindo SA sells all its patents and source code to Mixvoip, transferring full ownership of its call-routing technology. Following the acquisition, Mixvoip exits its stake in Pindo SA, bringing the technology in-house for future integration and development.

• February 2020 – Mixvoip launches mobile services in Belgium via BASE network
Mixvoip expands its telecom portfolio with business mobile services in Belgium, operating on the BASE network.

• July 2020 – Deutsche Telekom network added for German wholesale connectivity
Mixvoip integrates Deutsche Telekom’s network in wholesale mode, delivering internet services to its growing customer base in Germany.

• October 2020 – Mixvoip integrates Go To Market Sàrl via acquisition
Go To Market Sàrl, a small IT consulting company based in Luxembourg, is acquired through Corpoinvest Soparfi SA. As part of the acquisition, Go To Market’s customer base and service operations are integrated into Mixvoip.

• December 2020 – 3300+ customers and €5.73M ARR milestone
The company records €7.51M in revenue and increases ARR to €5.73M. The public sector accounts for 5.80% of recurring revenues for the year.

• December 2020 – 5th in Luxembourg with 2.9% market share in the fixed-line telephony market
According to ILR, Mixvoip ranks fifth in fixed-line telephony by call volume across both B2B and B2C markets.

• April 2021 – Proximus network added in Belgium
Mixvoip strengthens its Belgian coverage by onboarding the Proximus network, providing scalable business connectivity options.

• April 2021 – Mixvoip launches 4G internet backup with automatic failover
Mixvoip introduces a 4G mobile data backup service that ensures uninterrupted connectivity during outages. The solution uses a standby 4G router that instantly takes over with the same IP address keeping calls, emails, and online activity running without disruption.

• June 2021 – Mixvoip recognized among Luxembourg’s Best Workplaces™
Mixvoip is named one of the Best Workplaces in Luxembourg by Great Place to Work, ranking second in the medium-sized company category.

• December 2021 – Datacenter Luxembourg acquires a 24.9% stake in Mixvoip
Datacenter Luxembourg becomes a strategic shareholder in Mixvoip by acquiring approximately 24.9% of the company. The stake is purchased from Wagner Group, which exits its position. ~10% is transferred to Mixvoip’s early investors.

• December 2021 – ARR grows to €6.94M with 3888 customers
Mixvoip reports €9M in revenue and adds nearly 600 new customers. The public sector accounts for 6.26% of recurring revenues for the year.

• December 2021 – 4th in Luxembourg with 3.6% market share in the fixed-line telephony market
According to ILR, Mixvoip ranks fourth in fixed-line telephony by call volume across both B2B and B2C markets, even though it serves only business customers.

• February 2022 – MixPBX is rebranded as Voxbi
Mixvoip officially renames its PBX platform from MixPBX to Voxbi.

• March 2022 – Eurofiber interconnection for high-speed and dark fiber in Belgium
Mixvoip connects with Eurofiber, expanding its network with high-capacity fiber and dark fiber solutions for enterprise clients.

• April 2022 – VOO interconnection to broaden internet coverage in Belgium
Mixvoip links with VOO to extend its business internet reach across additional Belgian regions.

• September 2022 – Mixvoip partners with Tree-Nation to offset website emissions
Mixvoip partners with Tree-Nation to offset the carbon footprint of its website. In addition, trees are donated for select customer interactions, such as survey responses.

• September 2022 – Launch of Tempus module inside Voxbi
Mixvoip introduces Tempus, a workforce management module in its Voxbi PBX. Initially developed for presence-based call routing, Tempus evolved into a full-featured time management system with badge access, shift scheduling and holiday tracking.

• October 2022 – Mixvoip adds Starlink connectivity to its internet portfolio
Mixvoip begins offering Starlink-based internet services as part of its portfolio, providing high-speed connectivity in rural areas or as a backup options for business continuity.

• November 2022 – Mixvoip and Datacenter.eu launch Emios to build Luxembourg’s next-gen fiber backbone
Mixvoip and Datacenter form a 50/50 joint venture, Emios SA, with the goal of deploying a secure, redundant fiber infrastructure across Luxembourg.

• December 2022 – €8.28M ARR and revenue surpasses €11M
Customer count rises to 4135 as recurring revenue continues to grow. The public sector accounts for 6.95% of recurring revenues for the year.

• March 2023 – Mixvoip selected to support all NEC PBXs from Inetum Luxembourg
As Inetum Luxembourg exits the telephony business, it officially designates Mixvoip as the trusted provider to take over support for its NEC PBX customer base.

• April 2023 – Voxbi integrates with Tetronik DAKS alarm and broadcast systems
Mixvoip announces native compatibility between its Voxbi Cloud PBX and Tetronik’s DAKS platform, enabling professional alerting, broadcasting, and emergency communication features for hospitals, industry, and public safety environments.

• June 2023 – Mixvoip acquires managed IT customer portfolio from OpenField
Mixvoip acquires the managed IT services customer portfolio of OpenField in Luxembourg, along with several of its employees.

• June 2023 – Mixvoip acquires 32% stake in ICT-Pro Srl
Mixvoip takes a 32% ownership stake in ICT-Pro Srl, a Belgian ICT service provider.

• July 2023 – Voxbi integrates with Tetronik and team earns DAKSeco certification
Voxbi integrates with Tetronik DAKS alarm and broadcast systems. This confirms Mixvoip’s expertise in configuring and managing advanced, secure alarm and communication servers across critical environments.

• November 2023 – Mixvoip SAS is incorporated
Mixvoip France is officially established with offices in Metz, extending the company’s footprint into the French market.

• November 2023 – DIN VDE 0834 certification for patient call systems
Mixvoip staff earn certification with Schneider Electric, enabling work on MEDIOPT care patient call systems under DIN VDE 0834:2016-06 standards.

• December 2023 – Mixvoip achieves ISO/IEC 27001 certification
Mixvoip, along with its Belgian and German subsidiaries, is officially certified under ISO/IEC 27001.

• May 2024 – Mixvoip joins the Luxchat messaging initiative

• July 2024 – Launch of managed firewall service with Sophos

• January 2025 – Mixvoip exits Moien News Media SA
After several capital increases and having become the majority shareholder, Mixvoip exits its investment in Moien News Media SA. The company writes off the loss as part of a strategic refocus on its core telecom and IT business activities.

• February 2025 – Mixvoip launches printing services powered by Kyocera
Mixvoip enters the business printing market, offering Kyocera-based solutions including printer sales, consumables, and a fully managed print service with pay-per-page billing.

• March 2025 – Mixvoip launches new cloud platform with Proxmox and CEPH
Mixvoip puts into production its next-generation cloud infrastructure, built on Proxmox virtualization and CEPH distributed storage.

• April 2025 – Mixvoip becomes a Gold Member of LU-CIX
Mixvoip joins LU-CIX (Luxembourg Internet Exchange) as a Gold Member, reinforcing its role in the national internet ecosystem and commitment to network quality and peering excellence.

• April 2025 – Mixvoip partners with LuxProvide to advance AI-driven customer intelligence
Mixvoip enters a strategic partnership with LuxProvide, Luxembourg’s national supercomputing center, to develop proprietary AI models aimed at enhancing customer engagement and operational efficiency. Supported by the Ministry of the Economy and Luxinnovation, the collaboration leverages LuxProvide’s MeluXina supercomputer to train and deploy AI solutions including speech-to-text, sentiment analysis, and predictive analytics entirely within Luxembourg.

• March 2025 – Mixvoip launches managed firewall service in partnership with Sophos

• May 2025 – Voxbi Cloud PBX integrates with Odoo CRM
Mixvoip adds native integration between its Voxbi Cloud PBX and Odoo, a popular CRM. The integration enables features like click-to-call, call logging, and contact synchronization.

• July 2025 – Mixvoip becomes title sponsor of Luxembourg’s national volleyball league
Mixvoip signs a three-year naming rights agreement with the Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Volleyball (FLVB). Beginning with the 2025–2026 season, the top national divisions will be officially known as the Mixvoip League.

• July 2025 – Voxbi 2.0 is launched
Mixvoip releases Voxbi 2.0, a complete rewrite of its cloud PBX platform, originally built as MixPBX. The new version includes a fully rebuilt PBX engine, redesigned software and mobile clients, and modernized APIs offering improved performance, scalability, and developer integration.

• August 2025 – Mixvoip acquires customer base of Crossing Telecom S.à r.l.
Mixvoip takes over the telecom customer portfolio of Crossing Telecom S.à r.l., expanding its footprint in the Luxembourg business communications market and ensuring continued service for the acquired clients.

• September 2025 – Mixvoip receives the CYBERSECURITY MADE IN EUROPE label
Mixvoip receives the CYBERSECURITY MADE IN EUROPE label, validating its GDPR-compliant security solutions. This ECSO-initiated certification boosts the company's visibility throughout Europe.

• October 2025 - Mixvoip currently has 75 employees
Mixvoip and all its subsidiaries in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, and Germany, including one development office in Bulgaria, currently employ 75 people.
