We are Mixvoip, a vibrant Luxembourg-based company that provides cloud telephony, smart networking, and high-speed internet services. We are hiring a Voice engineer to oversea our voice systems and improve its features further.

About the role

A Voice engineer at Mixvoip is actively maintaining and deploying our in-house developed voice solutions used on our core systems and on our PBXes. This includes not only active coding but also listening to clients requirements and debugging the behaviour of our involved systems. As part of role, the Voice engineer also handles Level 2 support requests on a regular base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise voice solutions (VoIP core platform and in house developed PBXs).
• Ensure quality of service (QoS), call continuity, and system reliability across voice networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot unified communications systems, cloud voice platforms, and on-premises solutions.
• Implement and maintain security standards for voice communications (encryption, fraud detection).
• Improve security architecture in collaboration with system administrator and cybersecurity teams.
• Analyse SIP call flows and call related log files.
• Provide technical support and training across internal teams and, where relevant, clients.
• Coordinate with vendors and third parties for system implementation and upgrades.
• Automate provisioning and monitoring processes using scripting.
• Maintain compliance with GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and ISO 27001.

What do we need from you?

• Familiarity with basic voice systems or platforms (such as VoIP, cloud telephony, or PBX) is a plus, but curiosity and willingness to learn matter most.
• Understanding how networks and internet connections work (TCP/IP, basic concepts); no need to be an expert yet.
• A problem-solving mindset: Enjoy asking questions, digging into issues, and finding solutions.
• Eagerness to develop skills in scripting or automation - any experience with PHP or Python is great.
• An interest in telecommunication standards, privacy, and security - no prior experience required, just readiness to grow in these areas.
• Comfortable working with Linux systems, even if you’re just starting out.
• Willingness to collaborate, share ideas, and ask for help when faced with new challenges.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation: This means periodically being available to resolve urgent issues outside regular working hours for our SLA clients and in case of alarms from our monitoring.

What would make you stand out?

• Experience from a school project, internship, or part-time job in telecom or IT—a few months is enough to impress.
• Genuine interest in unified communications, telephony, or digital networks.
• Any telecom or network related certification (even entry-level or in progress)
• Knowledge of Freeswitch or Asterisk or SIP
• Projects, hobbies, or online courses related to voice technology or networking.
